Hollywood power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt maybe one of the most bankable stars in Tinseltown but they also plan on limiting the movies that they do in the coming years.
“As Brad and I get older we’re going to do fewer films,” Jolie revealed. “I’ve been working for a long time, he’s been working for a long time, we’ve had a nice run and don’t want to be doing this our whole lives. There are a lot of other things to do.”
And one of them is directing. Jolie, makes her directorial debut with the romance flick In the Land of Blood and Honey filmed in Bosnia. She says she drew from her own experiences working with directors to help her during filming.
“I think I’ve learnt something from all of them, even the ones I didn’t like,” the actress said.
But despite slowing down, Jolie acknowledges that acting helped her a lot to matyre and be who she is right now.
“[Acting is] like being in therapy, in a way,” the thesp continued. “You’re drawn to certain roles because they question something about life, or about love, or about freedom. You ask these questions as you grow up: am I strong enough, am I sane enough? Do I understand love, do I understand myself? I’m older and I know who I am, and I’m less interested in the character helping me answer something than in being able to answer it for myself, as a woman, as an adult, with my family.”
And Jolie and Pitt’s brood of six from different parts of the globe gain from their traveling parents. Jolie admitted that she encourages the children to learn from each others’ countries which includes visits so that the children are also proud of their own cultures. That’s why they plan to expose their kids to their origins.
“We owe Vietnam a visit, because Pax is due. Z wants to get back to Africa, and Shiloh too. So everyone takes their turns in their country,” Jolie revealed.
Jolie also believes that wherever they are in the world, home is there.
“I’m very bad at staying in one place,” she elaborated. “I’m also bad at sitting still. I was a terrible student at school. But there’s so much to explore in the world, so I love travel. If you can travel I think it’s the best way to raise kids.”
The stunning actress’ last role was that of CIA agent Evelyn Salt from 2010’s action thriller, “Salt” .
As for plans on getting married, Jolie said she and Brad is now considering their position that they will not get married until everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able. She said their kids ask about marriage recently.
The globe-trotting actress recently attended the closing ceremony of the Sarajevo Film Festival in Bosnia’s capital Saturday where she received a special award called ” The Heart of Sarajevo” for bringing attention to refugees from the country’s 1992-95 war. Bosnia is also one of the location of her directorial debut film “In the Land of Blood and Honey” .
Jolie is widely known for her charitable works such as being a UNHCR ambassador visiting war-torn areas and refugee camps.
