Singer Mariah Carrey and husband Nick Cannon can’t contain their happiness as shown in this first public appearance with their twins Moroccan and Monroe.
The 6-month old twins made their first public appearance with Barbara Walters on ABC’s “20/20″ last Friday.
Beaming Dad Cannon said “My family gives me everything,” Cannon beamed to Walters. “Unconditional love means … the world to me. I mean, it’s completion.”
“It’s just love,” a proud Carey added. “It’s a beautiful place to be.”
Morocca and Monroe was born in April 2011 during the couple’s third year anniversary.
Carey said it wasn’t an easy pregnancy. She had a miscarriage before the twin. “I don’t think I understood the enormity and the magnitude of what it really does to your body,” the singer said. “Carrying two babies. Unless somebody’s been through it, it’s difficult to understand what I went through, because my pregnancy was very unique in terms of what happened to me.”
Carrey had to stay in bed and went back and forth to the hospital during the pregnancy and the physical strain carrying the twin was painful. “I had serious back problems,” she said. “I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to walk properly again. It was a huge strain.”
The twins were born with Carrey singing her song ‘Fantasy’.
“They came into the world to a live version [of my song ‘Fantasy’],” Carey told Walters. “The only reason I wanted it to be the live version is because I wanted them to hear the applause upon entering the world.”
The couple’s happiness during the birth of their twins was slightly marred when they have to endure visit from Child Protective Services after reports of ‘drinking and drugs’ going on in the Carey’s hospital room after the birth of the twins. The incident began after a nurse told Mariah about a traditional method of improving the yeast in breast milk.
The couple has kept their twin away from the spotlight until now and they even posted their intimate pictures on their website.
