Even though ex-hubby Brad Pitt has been talking about her lately, Jennifer Aniston with her new Beau Justin Theroux is painting the town red with love and charity. Jen reportedly paid a whooping $450,000 for a painting; not just for the love of art but for a good cause.
Theroux did the bidding while Aniston is beside him giving the instructions to win the abstract artwork of American artist Glenn Ligon’s “Stranger #44″ which is reportedly expected to sell for $150,000 to $200,000.
The bidding was at Christie’s glitzy “Artists for Haiti” auction in NYC on Thursday. The charity auction was co-organized by Ben Stiller, and raised $13,662,000 to fund health and education initiatives for Haiti.
After the auction, Stiller, 40, and his wife Christine Taylor treated Theroux and Aniston with a late dinner at Il Cantinori. “They seemed to be having a lot of fun with Ben and his wife, like old friends.”
Meanwhile, Jen was reportedly pissed off by remarks made by the usually coy Pitt when he was interviewed in Parade Magazine. A pal close to Aniston said “She was annoyed, she thought that it was rude and inappropriate.” Her representatives reached out to Pitt’s side and read them the riot act.
Parade magazine’s Sunday edition quotes Brad as having said, “I spent the ’90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. This drew ire from Aniston fans but Pitt was quick to defend his remarks about ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
“It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend,” Brad said.
“It is an important relationship I value greatly,” Brad’s statement continued. “The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself – and that, I am responsible for.”
But Jen is so happy right now, he would not let his ex-husband’s comments ruin his blooming relationship with beau Theroux.
