There might not really be a bang since the filming of Jersey Shore’s fourth season brought the cast to Italy but Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi did manage to get a crash! Snooki hit the rear end of the police car that was escorting them while filming the series in Florence.
Snooki was driving a Fiat Multipla when the fender bender incident happened. With Snooki in the accident was Jersey Shore costar Deena Nicole Cortese who was sitting in the front seat and a member of the show’s production crew seated at the back of the car.
The accident happened in the evening during Florence’s rush hour. Snooki was driving when her car slammed the back of the patrol car which wedged Snooki’s car between the police car and a highway protection wall. Deena’s door was blocked by the wall that she was forced to go through the passenger window in order to go out.
There were two police officers who were in the car during the accident were taken to a local hospital’s emergency room for whiplash and minor injuries. Snooki and Deena however were injured but were taken in custody. They were taken to the nearest police station to fill out an accident report form. Snooki’s international driver’s license was revoked and was no longer allowed to drive in the country.
Mario Rondinelli, Florence’s road safety coordinator, said that no alcohol was involved in the crash. The show’s insiders said Snooki took a breath-alcohol test after the incident. Snooki wasn’t arrested.
Later that night the other female cast of Jersey Shore went out for a girl’s night out. Deena Cortesse, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola and Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley were seen in their tightest outfits hitting the streets of Florence, sipping cocktails and mingling with the Tuscan city locals.
The cast of Jersey Shore are living up to their name having accumulated more than $400 worth of fines for various traffic violations excluding that of Snooki’s crash.
Already known for their wild and crazy antics, the cast of have been banned from shooting in Florence’s most famous locations. The city’s mayor Matteo Renzi only allowed the cast to promote Italy’s culture, traditions and good food and declared that the cast aren’t to be filmed in bars and clubs or drinking in public.
People however are not surprised of the incident. It seems to happen every season where Snooki does something which makes people look forward to watching the show. Snooki was arrested back in Season 3 for drunk and disorderly conduct. She was fined $500 and was sentenced to do community service.
Though uninjured, Snooki was seen sporting a neck brace after the accident. However, Snooki later waved the brace around and laughed. Maybe it is this kind of act that made the President of a national Italian American group say, “She is our worst ever export and is an embarrassment for Italian Americans and our whole country.”
