Motherhood is not easy. But give it to expecting mom Jewel to add more task on her plate. The singer/songwriter has already learned to multitask while she is waiting for her first baby – a boy – which is due in July.

Jewel is the host and judge of the new show “ Platinum Hit “ in Bravo TV and a new children’s album will be released in the fall.

Jewel is married to world champion bull rider Ty Murray. They wed in August 2008 after 10 years of dating. It took a while for them to have a baby even though they are willing to start a family right away. They make sure first that they are ready to devote more time in raising their kids.

“We were both real careful and kind of cautious about it. I think it sort of scared both of us,” Jewel told The Associated Press in a recent interview.

We feel like it’s great timing, even though we’re a little older,” said Jewel. The singer while trying to get pregnant wrote and recorded an album called “Lullaby” at her home in Stephenville, Texas. While pregnant, she produce a children’s album “The Merry Goes `Round,” that will be released in the fall. “I wanted it to work on a lot of levels where infants would like it, and they could just bounce to the rhythm of a song, and then as they get older they could get into the storytelling aspect, and hopefully have them be well-crafted pop songs that a parent would like,” she said.

The mom-to-be will also host the third season of “The Incurables,” Veria TV’s popular television series which explores real people on life-changing journeys such as patients who have become passionate advocates of natural, healthy lifestyles after overcoming crippling illnesses and life-threatening diseases.

Jewel is an accomplished singer/songwriter. She became famous in 1996 with the song she wrote, the hit single “Who Will Save Your Soul”. Jewel is successful both in pop and country music.

Jewel will join former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi in hosting and judging aspiring songwriters in Bravo’s “Platinum Hit”. The show will showcase 12 budding songwriters who will be challenged to compose songs for different genres such as dance tracks to love ballads. The winner will get $100,000, a publishing deal and a major-label contract.

“They’re hit makers,” said Jewel. “It’s a very competitive field. One day they might be writing for Ke$ha. The next day they might be writing for Carrie Underwood. So you have to be able to be really versatile and really competitive on the radio format.”

Jewel said the show will give a glimpse on the real life of songwriters.
