Activists from India wants Lady Gaga’s penchant for bizaare fashion be put to good use by asking the pop star to pose in a lettuce dress and embraced vegetarianism. Lady Gaga is visiting India this weekend to be part of the star-studded unveiling of the country’s first Formula 1 race. She will perform in an exclusive concert in a a five-star hotel in New Delhi after the race on Sunday. The $400 million Buddh International Circuit is on the periphery of the Indian capital.
Lady Gaga is not new to outrageous and mostly funny clothes and shoes. She wore a meat dress at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards which reportedly irked human rights activists and vegetarians.
PETA India sent a letter to her publicists saying they hope she will respect India’s reverence for animals by not eating meat during her visit and pose for a photograph wearing a lettuce gown to promote the importance of vegetarianism.
“If she agrees, we’ll make her a dress entirely of lettuce and held together by pins and threads. It will be a full length gown, and we’ll make sure it looks sexy,” said Sachin Bangera of PETA India.
It will take five to six hours to construct the gown on the singer’s body.
“Someone will be on hand to spray the lettuce with water so that it doesn’t wilt,” Bangera added.

During a visit in India earlier this year, Lady Gaga during an interview with Indian chat show host Simi Garewal, said she would like to soak up the local culture by taking an Indian cooking class.
The country’s unveiling of the first Formula 1 Grand Prix is seen as a symbol of India’s growing global wealth and power. Other celebrities attending are heavy metal band Metallica, F1 drivers like Michael Schumacher and Tom Cruise was also reportedly invited for the event.
