Ryan Dunn, who became famous in his notorious series of movies entitled “Jackass”, died early on Monday in an explosive car accident. He was only thirty-four years old.
Dunn, who was known for being a “daredevil” after doing crazy stunts such as diving into a sewage tank, was rolling his Porsche in the highway of Philadelphia when he lost control of the wheels, went off the road, turned over a guardrail, crashed into the woods, before finally exploding into flames. Zachary Hartwell, thirty years old from West Chester, was also killed as he was seating in the passenger’s seat with Dunn. West Township police reported that high speed mat be the reason behind the accident.
The impact of the crash was so extensive that that it broke the car into several pieces making it hardly recognizable. Well, except for one door that was thrown just right after the vehicle crashed and was not burned together with the other parts.
According to the police, the bodies of the two men were very burned that it was impossible to identify them. They only recognized Dunn from his tattoos and hair.
Roger Ebert, a movie critic, commented on Dunn’s death last Monday through tweeter which did not amuse “Jackass” co-start Bam Margera and blogger Perez Hilton.
To quote what Ebert wrote on his profile on tweeter he said, “Jackass star Ryan Dunn, rest in peace. His Porsche flew through forty yards of trees.” Then he added, “Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive,” of which he was referring to a picture that was earlier taken by Dunn before the crash happened where he was seen drinking with friends. From that incident, the photo was ever since removed.
Hilton was obviously annoyed by these tweets that he had to react by releasing, “We understand what he is trying to say. But still this is extremely insensitive!”
Margera on the other hand who even more affected by the insensitive comments of Ebert tweeted on Monday night saying, “I just lost my best friend. I have been crying hysterical for a full day, and Roger Ebert has a gall to put in his two cents.”
MTV, to whom Dunn had contracts with, released a statement saying that they really the late star’s humor and enthusiasm and that he will be missed greatly.
Van Toffler, the president of MTV Networks Music and Film Group said that they were really shocked
by Dunn’s sudden death. And this incident is not taken lightly because he has been a family to the network for
mor
e than ten years. With his loss, the Jackass brotherhood will not be the same anymore.
Dunn was given birth by his mother in Ohio. When he turned fifteen, he moved to Pennsylvania where he would meet Margera on the very first day of classes during their high school years.
