Known as the most dangerous person in the music industry, Eminem and Justin Bieber, today’s hottest prince of pop shined on Sunday’s billboard music awards. Each of them bagged six awards while Eminem also won the biggest award of the night, artist of the year.
Though the 38 year old rapper Eminem was a no-see, Bieber was all smiles all the while the program was ongoing putting the shine back on stage together with some the industry’s biggest music stars at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It was not only a celebration for the greatest music makers of our time but also marks the revival of the said occasion after a four year break. 
Justin Bieber who had cut his signature hairstyle to sport a more short, and spiky hair wore a tuxedo with gold jacket on. He won the category for best new artist beating no less than contenders Nicki Minaj and Bruno Mars. As he was saying his speech he mentioned that he is only seventeen and so everyday he wakes up and it gets crazy in a good way because he meets many people along and at the same time makes them smile.
The Canadian born sensation who inspired a huge number of followers called the “Beliebers” first in you tube then in other social media websites also won other awards such as social and digital media artist, streaming artist and song, top pop album. He is so much grateful to all the people who believed in his talent, brought him out of his shell, and allowed him to live his dreams.
Eminem who was originally from Detroit released the controversial “Recovery” last year where the unbelievably big hit song “Love the way you lie” in collaboration with Rihanna was included. He took home awards for rap song and rap album, rap artist, billboard 200 album, and the top male album.
Rihanna, 23 years old, started the show performing “S and M”from her tenth studio album entitled “Loud”. She was then joined by Britney Spears before she continued to receive the awards such as top female and top radio artist.
Katy Perry received the awards for top hot 100 artist and top digital songs while Taio Cruz won the top hot 100 song of the year for his famous hit “Dynamite”.
Lady Antebelum’s “Need you now” won country song of the year which was also announced by the Billboard as the most downloaded country song ever.
Taylor Swift, who kept winning back in the years, received the award for country artist of the year.
The Black Eyed Peas was more than happy to receive the trophy for top duo or group award.
Beyonce was given the Millennium awards for her contribution to music and was also recognized as a role model for women
Other awards that were given during the celebration were Icon award (to Neil Diamond), and top touring award (to U2).
