The man behind Taken is back again and I love it. The master jedi is back and Unknown brings us a story with a good twist to it. Although stolen identities are very common in movies, I’d have to say I’m impressed by this one.
Although there weren’t that many action scenes in them, this movie is still great. Yes, our master jedi gets beaten around but blame it on the loss of memory. Unlike Jason Bourne our hero here wasn’t able to reclaim his skills when he lost his memory but still it works since it makes people stick to the story. Neeson moving around would have given away the movie’s twist.
I love how they piece puzzles together. Though it might not really be that impressive, it brings a reality to it. I wish they could have gone more in depth with the story but it’s okay coz I loved it.
The cast were great. Liam Neeson wasn’t the invincible man we saw in Taken and he surely wasn’t bringing his master jedi skills. I love how he looks so plain except his height. It kinda makes him blend in and it makes him look ordinary and I love how he stays away from the women unlike James Bond. The last thing I’d wanna see is an old guy making out or making love with a younger woman. I just hate that double standard. I’ve yet to see and old action female star doing it with a much younger man, unless of course that woman goes by the name Angelina Jolie but then again she’s still too young to qualify.
I like the simplicity of the story and their use of someone of a specific culture and religion be doing something to save the world, not destroy it. I love how they kept the action to a minimal until they got to the end. I just wasn’t sure how he was able to walk out considering the damage he’s done, not unless he was running away from the world, something which wasn’t really shown in the movie. I guess the movies is still a world of forgive and forget, no questions asked.
I rate this movie eight stars out of ten. The cast were great and January Jones was only shown for a short time which saves her the critique for her acting skills. Watch this movie for something that’s not entirely new but still stands on its own. You’ll be in for a ride.
